It is clear that there must be difficulties for us in a revelation such as the Bible. If someone were to hand me a book that was as simple to me as the multiplication table, and say, ‘This is the Word of God. In it He has revealed His whole will and wisdom,’ I would shake my head and say, ‘I cannot believe it; that is too easy to be a perfect revelation of infinite wisdom.’ There must be, in any complete revelation of God’s mind and will and character and being, things hard for the beginner to understand; and the wisest and best of us are but beginners." -R. A. Torrey” />

As Albert Einstein has said, “The only incomprehensible thing about the universe is that it is comprehensible.”

“How can it be that the mathematics thought up of the human mind corresponds to the working of the universe? What original authority; what reliability has a reason? Isn’t an instrument deliberately designed to enable us to discover and believe the truth?”

“The goal of science is not to impose on the matter and workings of the universe or human sense of order, but to discover the universe’s own intrinsic order and intelligibility. And that means that scientists have always had to believe, before they start, that the universe has an inherent order. If it didn’t, scientific research would be pointless.” -John Lennox

“Men became scientific because they expected law in nature, and they expected law in nature because they believed in the Law Giver.” -C.S. Lewis

“… You don’t go through a long system of logic to conclude that the roses are in bloom, you perceive it directly.”

A person may ask how such a simple Book could provide a way of understanding God – the epitome of complexity. Though, I may ask also how it possible for a child to comprehend something like language, colour, and consciousness.

“… God has not left it simply for the intellectuals to be able to get a grasp of His Existence and to have a relationship with Him. God has revealed Himself so that the simplest or the greatest person can respond on precisely the same terms. And in that sense, I believe that belief in God is properly basic.” -John Lennox
