“White Owl” by Josh Garrels (Video + Lyrics) & (Verses + Meaning)

When the night comes,
And you don't know which way to go
Through the shadowlands,
And forgotten paths,
You will find a road

Like an owl you must fly by moonlight with an open eye,
And use your instinct as your guide, to navigate the ways that lays before you,
You were born to take the greatest flight

Like a serpent and a dove, you will have wisdom born of love
And carry visions from above into the places no man dares to follow
Every hollow in the dark of night
Waiting for the light
Take the flame tonight

Child the time has come for you to go
You will never be alone
Every dream that you have been shown
Will be like living stone
Building you into a home
A shelter from the storm

Like a messenger of peace, the beauty waits be released
Upon the sacred path you keep, leading deeper into the unveiling
As your sailing, across the great divide

Like a wolf at midnight howls, you use your voice in darkest hours
To break the silence and the power, holding back the others from their glory
Every story will be written soon
The blood is on the moon
Morning will come soon

Child the time has come for you to go
You will never be alone
Every dream that you have been shown
Will be like living stone
Building you into a home
A shelter from the storm

I’ll take a stance with at least one other person who said that it represents the spiritual journey of every believer. God finds us in our weakness, sleeping, and sends us out into the darkness of the world. We might start to wonder why He has done such a thing, but know that He didn’t leave us without a guiding light to lead us down the right path. And though it may seem like all paths lead to destruction in the end, we find that the journey was really a test. God was with us all along and we just needed to trust in His power and protection. In the end our Father will hold us in His arms as we enter our real home.

Away in Manger – Shannon Labrie (Video+Lyrics).

Those who know me know that I typically don’t like “Worship” dubbed music nor Christmas songs. I don’t even like other versions of this song nor even most of the songs on the rest of Labrie’s album. This song with Labrie’s tone hits home though. I hope you enjoy it as I do.

Original Lyrics by James R. Murray
Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,
The little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head.
The stars in the bright sky looked down where he lay,
The little Lord Jesus asleep in the hay.
The cattle are lowing, the baby awakes,
But little Lord Jesus no crying he makes.
I love Thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky
And stay by my side until morning is nigh.
Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever, and love me, I pray.
Bless all the dear children in thy tender care,
And fit us in heaven, to live with Thee there.

“Speak of the Devil” by Sum 41

Trying to find a way
Getting better every day
And I got you now, I’m not along
All I need in this life is one,
One thing to believe in
I’ve seen many a face
From young, and too old
I’ve stolen their faith, and I have broken their souls
Was here before Christ, had forgave you your sins
And paid your price, and sealed your fate within
Days have come to an end
Today’s the day that we meet again
The self inflicted inebriation, guilt never lies
I’ve been waiting for the chance to reunite this sick romance
Poison never hurt so good
So nice of you to speak of me
Your closest friend and enemy
An only savior of masochists
Well it’s the dead end slave
From the alter to the grave
It’s the last days of our life
The faith of men
Time, it’s been so long
And now there’s nothing to say
I’m trying so hard to find the words to say
I’m tired of being, now I’m something I’m not
I can’t believe, and I never thought
Days would come to an end
Well maybe someday we’ll meet again
If ever that day never comes
It would be too soon
I’ve been waiting for the chance to nullify this sick romance
Pull the chord to detonate
So sick of you don’t speak of me
No represent of misery
An only savior of masochists
Well it’s the dead end slave
From the alter to the grave
It’s the last days of our lives
The faith of men
Trying to find a way,
Getting better every day
And I got you now, I’m not alone
All I need in this life is one
One thing to believe in
